Further Changes to Liquor Licences

The Victorian Liquor Commission announced yesterday that further changes are being introduced for liquor licensees. Of particular application to our members are the following changes.

From 25 August 2022:

It is an offence to knowingly supply an online order to a person if they are intoxicated or there is a substantial risk of intoxication.

If you are going to provide same day delivery for online orders, you must provide the delivery driver with written instructions not to leave the delivery unattended - it must be delivered to a person who is not intoxicated or a minor.

The definition of “harm” arising from misuse and abuse of alcohol has been expanded.

From 1 September 2022:

Any type of off-premises supply (phone, fax mail, etc) will need to comply with the online rules that commenced earlier this year. This includes notifying the VLC of your intention to supply off-premises (you do not need to do this again if you notified them for online sales), displaying your licence number on your website or where ever orders can be placed, as well as instructions to delivery persons.

Further information for those with a Producers Licence can be found here.
